A 59-year-old man who claims he is actually a woman recently took to the ice during the opening ceremony for the European Figure Skating Championships in Finland.
The skater, Minna-Maaria Antikainen, came out as trans a few years ago and decided to take up figure skating. During the ceremony, which you can watch below, Antikainen made a rather poor attempt to skate around the ice, eventually falling and unable to get up.
As more and more men attempt to identify as women and join women’s athletics, it appears that Finland like the NCAA is onboard with this. “Truth is,” says GWU! Sports Editor Johnny Jock. “These men are usually mediocre in the male sports and opt into female sports and end up dominating. Look no further than swimmer Lia Thomas.”
And it’s no joke! As we reported last month some men, who identify as woman, are even trying to join women’s-only gyms.
That said, GWU! doubts that female figure skaters have anything to worry about because it doesn’t look like Antikainen is capable of dominating this sport, unless, of course, they introduce mansplaining as a required jump… of the shark!
