Elon Musk, Tulsi Gabbard and Joe Rogan are just a few of the OG leaving the left crowd who went from being wokesters to Trumpsters. Now there’s a new crop of celebs and politicians who are liberating themselves from the cogs of the left wing political machine.
Whether it’s a natural ideological evolution or just a self-interested survival instinct under the Trump Presidency there’s no doubt this crop of progressive posers are leaving the left.
1. Mark Zuckerberg has Metacrisis
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, had a surprisingly non-partisan stance in the 2024 elections. Despite his past love of everything liberal; curtailing free speech online, wokeness and vaccines, The Zuk has been poking around the private court of President-elect Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago where his friend request and new ‘totally normal human’ broccoli perm has been met with a huuuge thumbs up.
2. Ana Kasparian transitions from Karen to Stacey
The co-host of The Young Turks has been a prominent voice of progressive values and low cut tops online for more than a decade. But after a fearful 2024 encounter with a homeless man in LA she realized, maybe defunding all the police wasn’t such a hot idea, especially when her ‘friends’ on the left compounded the attack with a hate filled pile-on of their own.
Kasparian has also openly expressed disillusionment with the Democratic Party since it shanked socialist candidate and presumed winner of the 2020 Democratic nomination, Bernie Sanders. Now identifying as “politically homeless” and even railing against Gavin Newscum, her increasing skepticism towards progressive policies proves a significant shift from her earlier stances. 3. Isaiah Washington can not tell a lie
The former Grey’s Anatomy star Isaiah Washington made headlines by openly supporting Donald Trump and leaving the Democratic Party. The good doctors involvement with the #WalkAway movement and vocal criticism of the Democratic Party’s impact on the black community all played a part in his curtain call on left-wing ideology.
In frustration of being passed over for roles due to his political views he announced his retirement from acting in 2023, saying that he fought the good fight but could no longer deal with all the harassment from the “Left-wing cultural sphere.”
4. Bernie Sanders Left out in the cold
The self-described ‘democratic socialist’ (with three houses—ed) remains critical of the billionaire class and still advocates for (wasteful—ed) government social programs.
But Sanders recent op-eds and public statements on how the Dems deserved to lose in 2024 prove his shift away from party politics of the Left. This move reflects a more populist stance, distancing him from the toxic Marxist politics he pushed until he was shoved out of his own party into the cold. Or is he just angling for a spot in Trumps cabinet?
5. Cenk Uygur on Blood Pressure Meds
Founder of The Young Turks and long time pudding enthusiast, Uygur is another bloated blowhard who has also deserted traditional left-wing posturing.
Despite his progressive roots, Uygur made a surprise presidential run in 2024 aimed at unseating President Biden and the Dem establishment who he called ‘weak’. His criticisms of Democratic kingmaker Obama has led to a surprising increase in his mainstream popularity and frequent guest appearances on Piers Morgan Tonight where more often than not he agrees with the former tabloid editor.
6. GWU! did not AOC this one coming
The Latinx Congresswoman for The Bronx, Queens and instagram recently went online to ask her constituents why they voted for both Trump and herself.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez found out that her voters want someone who will buck the system and say it like it is.
“Sometimes you gotta dig in and see it to understand and adapt” she said on social media … with a laughing emoji. “Even if it makes you want to barf.”
Is that why she took the pronouns out of shes/hers bio?
7. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
Known for his centrist views the actor and former wrestler endorsed Joe Biden in 2020 but later said he regretted the division it caused.
Johnson’s recent comments criticizing cancel culture pin down that the Rock smells that the woke is done cooking.
