Love Sacrificed

“I asked him about Black Lives Matter,” Sara told her family after dumping Ben at the altar on what was supposed to be their wedding day. “He said he never really thought about it. How could he not think about it?” Ben, meanwhile, was left scratching his head and holding back tears. “I told her I had no problem with her sister being gay,” he sobbed. “But apparently, that wasn’t enough.”
Sara, who brought up a “what if” our child was a transvestite scenario during their final date, adds: “I was constantly giving him the benefit of the doubt.” For Ben, Sara’s obsessive grilling about politics felt like an ambush. “I just wanted to find love,” he said. During the Love Is Blind reunion, the God-fearing churchgoer admitted to hosts Nick and Vanessa Lachey that he’s been trying to learn about his (white) privilege since the rejection (Jesus Christ—ed).
Alley-whoops

Sara and Ben weren’t the only couple torn apart by the woke mind virus on the hit Netflix Reality TV show. Devin, a high school basketball coach, and vehemently left-wing Virginia’s relationship hit a flagrant foul when Devin revealed his family’s support for the Republican Party, led by Donald J. Trump. Devin, a standup guy who believed love shouldn’t hinge on political alignment, was blindsided when Virginia bolted from their wedding ceremony like she had a non-Tesla electric vehicle idling in the parking lot.
“I told her I wasn’t super into politics,” Devin said. Virginia, who had previously claimed she was open to different political views, drew the line at Devin’s family’s support of the MAGA movement.
“If you’re way on the other side of the spectrum on certain issues, it’s alarming,” lectured Dr. Evelyn Hart, a cultural studies professor who spoke with America’s Number One Source of Newstainment, GWU.
The doctor says that Virginia was dropping some disturbing hints that Devin should have reacted to. For one thing, Virginia ordered Devin to sign a prenup before the big day. “She probably should’ve spent more time focusing on building the relationship and less time on MSNBC talking points,” advises Hart.
Is the Woke Mind Virus Killing Romance?

Dr. Hart warns that Sara and Ben’s breakup—and Devin and Virginia’s implosion—are symptoms of a larger cultural crisis in America. “The woke mind virus is infecting relationships,” Dr. Hart declares to GWU! “Young women like Sara and Virginia are being fed a steady diet of misinformation about George Floyd, BLT+, and vaccines, and they’re bringing that baggage into their love lives.”
She argues that the rejection of Ben and Devin reflects a dangerous social trend where ideological purity is prioritized over genuine connection. “We’re teaching people that love is conditional on sharing the same political beliefs,” she says. “But real love isn’t about agreeing on everything—it’s about navigating differences with respect and understanding.”
The Altar of Wokeness
At the altar, Sara delivered the final blow to Ben. “I love you so much,” she told him, “but I’ve always wanted a partner to be on the same wavelength.”
Meanwhile, Virginia’s dramatic exit left Devin standing alone at center court, wondering why his political beliefs—or his family’s were so foul and why they mattered more than the connection he’d been trying to build.
As Love Is Blind fans debate whether Sara and Virginia made the right decision on their right-wing beaus, Dr. Hart warns that the show’s emphasis on woke ideology is doing more harm than good. “Netflix is streaming viewers and contestants a steady diet of misinformation,” she says. “From racism to sexuality ideology the show is pushing a narrative that divides people instead of bringing them together, which has become more typical among the left.”
