Not content to just honk, honk at Justin Trudeau for stealing freedom, author Derek Smith is giving a dress down to groomers in his fourth book The Young Kid’s Guide to Grooming

The best-selling parody author of How the Prime Minister Stole Freedom and Let’s Go Brandon, along with the wonderful illustrations of Kaede Knipe, has crafted another searing critique of the woke world in the form of a children’s picture book.

Hey Hey Hey!

The story begins with a brother and sister, Riley and Vara, playing in the sand. When they realize they are dirty, they decide they want to get cleaned up. That’s when they’re paid a visit by the ghost of a familiar looking Hollywood spirit with a magic scarf around his neck. The flying ghoul, who has a lot of influential friends on his flight log, whisks the kids away to his magical island where they get more exposure to grooming than they expected.

In a recent interview, Smith revealed to podcast host Shadoe Davis that the book has plenty of jokes with a ton of celebrity Easter eggs, even given the disturbing subject matter.

Ain’t That a Drag!

“[The book] was a lot of fun to make,” Smith told Shadoe. “It was our first step out of politics and into the culture wars.”

The book tactfully but brutally addresses Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) in libraries, and the disgusting sexualization of kids in the media (Spoiler Alert: there’s a cameo by a shop teacher with giant prosthetic breasts, a jailed TV star / pudding salesman, and past and current American Presidents—ed).

The publication of The Young Kid’s Guide to Grooming comes on the heels of the recent One Million Person March for Children. The Canada-wide walk saw parents across the country protesting against the teaching of extreme gender ideology and Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) lessons that many say are stealing the innocence of their children.

Crossdressing the Line

Smith told Shadoe that much like the film, The Sound of Freedom, projects like his are dismantling woke culture. And he says that’s affecting mainstream profits.

“When you go past some of the theme parks in the US you can see how this woke culture has affected their bottom line. As a society, people were at first accepting and PC and all for diversity and listening to what people had to say. But the problem with a lot of what’s gone on is like the old saying: give an inch, take a mile.”

The Calgary-based author and family man points to how Bud Light and Target have been battered by public opinion and are now suffering in sales because of their extreme virtue signaling. “People were okay with it at first but now they’re just fed up with woke culture.”

Smith hopes the new book will help his independent publishing company, Unacceptable Fringe, break into the US market with its topical appeal. That said, the author isn’t done skewering the Great White North just yet. He is currently working on How The Prime Minister Stole Freedom, Again!, (you mean Part Deux—ed), a follow up to his first book that was inspired by the Freedom Convoy.

Available on Amazon, Smith warns readers to beware of amateur imitators as his brand of satirical books has a number of inferior copycat publications. Unlike those look-a-likes, Smith continues to be a one-of-a-kind author, bringing awareness through humour to very serious and disturbing topics.

For the first month, a portion of sales from the book is being donated to the Child Advocacy Centre Calgary to assist abused children.
