Imagine a multiverse where comicbooks told interesting stories instead of preached woke lectures. Where race, religion and sexuality wasn’t the story, but a part of it. Where heroes stood for something — instead of against everything. Stop imagining, that universe is now real and it’s called The RippaVerse. 

The fictional ‘Rippa’ comic book universe is the creation of podcaster and political commentator for The Blaze, Eric July. “Isom #1” the first comic of what July hopes will be many more has already brought in nearly 3 million in pre-sales.

UP, UP AND AWAY!

July is a self-described libertarian, who says he is “on a mission to spread liberty, speak out against nonsense and work towards a more free and prosperous society.”

The creator says that most of today’s entertainment is out to “beat people over the head with stuff like social justice” and left-leaning agendas.

“To see the industry go in the direction that it’s gone kind of lights a fire under you,” July said. “It’s not like it’s getting any better. These people are doubling down on everything that they’re doing no matter how often the fans reject it.”

As just some examples; DC comics recently made Superman gay while Marvel leveled up a new female Captain Marvel from a backup character to the most powerful stunning and brave woman ever in the publisher’s long list of more established (and popular) heroes.

ORIGIN STORY 

As a die hard comicbook fan July saw the industries slow decline into woke, virtue signaling content spewing out of both Marvel and DC.

“I put my money where my mouth is,” July said on creating his own franchise.

“I just started a comicbook company. I told people I’m not beating the audience over the head with my individual political views with this, and that got me called the most ugly names I’ve probably ever been called in my life.”

BIFF, BAM, BOOM!

In a case of life imitating art, the woke mob actually banned any mention of the RippaVerse and July on the 2.5 million incel strong subreddit r/comicbooks. Anyone who simply posts about the comic, July or links to the crowdsource campaign will have the post removed and be banned from posting.

“A lot of it has to do with the fact that I am a person that they simply do not like,” he said.

Attacked online for being a Black Libertarian who often appears on popular fan hosted podcasts such as Geeks and Gamers and Nerdrotic’s Friday Night Tights, July has taken the negative energy as the secret behind his creative superpowers. He says he hopes to build a fandom where people can share their theories and build friendships.  

“I like seeing people be stoked. I like seeing people be happy and enthusiastic about something that is happening in entertainment. The last five, six years, it’s been rough for a lot of people [because] folks have just been holding their nose as they go through and consume whatever entertainment it is that they’re consuming,” he said.

COLLECTORS EDITION

“Isom #1” follows the story of Avery Silman, a common rancher in Florepark, Texas, who “obtained some unique abilities” and spent a brief time acting as a hero under the moniker Isom. Things take a turn for Silman when he gets a call from his sister about an old friend who has become one of the most feared men in the city. Silman goes to visit his childhood friend and ends up in some violent altercations as he is sucked back into the world of “excepts” or “special beings.”

The 96-page comicbook will be ground zero for the explosive Rippaverse comics universe. Issue 1 is written by July with pencils and ink by Cliff Richards, Gabe Eltaeb on colors and Eric Weathers’ doing lettering.

“We’re seeing success and people are enthusiastic. Customers are enthusiastic and that’s why they hate us,” he said.

“This is what I do. This is my passion. I’m a comicbook lifer.”
