Free Speech Fails Canadian Teachers with 1984 Lesson

Right-wing opinions, words and speech are prohibited, this isn’t America: says Union Boss!

A woke union boss is warning Ontario, Canada, teachers they could be disciplined for exercising their freedom of speech. According to an internal memo leaked to GWU! educators could be punished for; right wing-views, using common expressions like “long time no see” or even acknowledging the scientific fact that there are only two genders.

Chief negotiator for the union John Vince sent the undemocratic warning in December 2023 via an email memo to members from the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) union local for the Limestone District School Board (LDSB), in the eastern part of the Canadian province.

The concern comes as teachers in the school board have been increasingly accused of human rights complaints, advised Big Brother Vince in the memo.

Anonymous grievances can and are being made on the school boards main website which are then sent to a ‘Human Rights and Equity Officer.’ Those complaints can then be escalated to the province’s all powerful Human Rights Tribunal—leading to fines or even the loss of a teaching license if found guilty.

BACK TO SCHOOL

FORM OF SPEECH CONTROL: The Limestone District School Board has this free speech snitch form on its website, which any member of the public can use to lodge an anonymous complaint against teachers, staff and even students.

The Ontario Human Rights Code (which was ignored during the so-called pandemic—ed) prohibits certain words or actions which apply to all citizens of the province (WTF?—ed). The code makes it illegal to discriminate against people based on a protected ground, including: age, color, race, ethnic origin, disability, gender identity, and sexual orientation but ill defines the severity of such offenses and offers little to no protection of freedom of speech.

Vince warned members not to engage in any language in the classroom that could run members afoul of the laws, which it seems, the union agrees with. The leaked memo explains voicing an opinion of anything from socially conservative, to apolitical or even a seemingly innocuous statement is a subject to discipline.

Members were told in the email that views commonly held in the United States and United Kingdom are simply not allowed in Ontario and that expressing them could lead to discipline.

“Supporting a so-called ‘right wing’ political view (example: Parental rights)” is listed as not allowed, as well as expressing “The notion that there are only two genders,” wrote Vince.

Teachers were also schooled that they should not believe that certain cultural practices are better than others, citing the example that Western law is superior to Sharia law or that the Scientific Method is superior to other so-called “ways of knowing” (an Indigenous mumbo-jumbo quasi religious concept—ed).

The union Tsar also told teachers that keeping secrets from parents is a good thing. As an example he pointed to not telling parents if their child is caught doing drugs.

TEACHERS DON’T GET NO RESPECT!

PARENTS ARE RIGHT: With parents on the march in recent months to reclaim their rights in regard to what their children are taught in schools, school boards are hitting back with policies such as Limestone District School Board’s that make everything ‘discrimination’.

If that wasn’t crazy enough, Vince went on to warn teachers not to tell students to get off their phone, to pull their hoodies down, and not question why a student is late for class.

Common words and phrases are also verboten such as “long time no see,” “blindspot,” “hit it out the park,” “no can do,” “ladies and gentlemen,” and “Aboriginal” and presumably, “Tranny.”

Talking down to members in the memo it opines that since members just don’t know any better as they consume media from the USA or UK where free speech is actually still permitted.

Vince said in the memo that the union was making the (1984—ed) recommendations to members as it awaits an official list of  “what speech cannot be said in Ontario and/or the LDSB.”
